Mp4-21

1-When is the 2006 Mclaren MP4-21 going to launch?
2-Why do they always opt for a low key affair? One would think their sponsors would appreciate somethink more spectacular, eg Ferrari style.
3-What are they doing in the absence of a title sponsor in the interim period between West and Vodaphone?

2. Could be to cut costs and spend the money on the car rather than an extravaganza of a launch. Alot of teams are doing that now.
3. I read that they'll have an interim red livery for next year which will then incorporate Vodafone in '07.

"You just don't mess with Jacques Villeneuve" - Murray Walker, 1997 Hungarian GP.
"When Jacques was with us, he was a very aggressive driver, fiercely competitive, mentally hard as nails. Very quick with it, very gifted. A bright fellow, undoubtedly, very intelligent. He was an absolutely born racing driver - look at the way he'd bang wheels with Michael, pass people on the outside, that kind of thing" -Sir Frank Williams on Jacques Villeneuve
"This year, with BMW, JV's going very well, and I'm pleased for him. Whether or not he'll get a drive next year I don't know, but I hope he does, he's an unusual, and very strong addition to the F1 community. A character." - Sir Frank Williams again on Jacques Villeneuve
The Nojvnof1 2006 driver lineup - Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christian Klein, Scott Speed.

And yes, im all Mclaren, no matter if i like their drivers or not (has never been a problem though). Had a soft spot for Minardi as well, but as they are out I could not care less about the other teams, and I hope they drown i their own drool in admiration over the MP4-21, which is going to be toppbanana in 2006.

The Masters have returned.
"People were being killed left, right and center back then," [Phil Hill] says. "I became hyper-sensitive to the danger, and wasn't sure that I wasn't going to kill myself. As a result, racing brought out the worst in me. Without it, I don't know what kind of person I might have become. But I'm not sure I liked the person I did become, because I was selfish, irritable and defensive."

And your wishes of a 80's early 90's Marlboro Mclaren will more or less come true as the whole package will be tailored to Vodaphone.

All teams that are not 100% manufacturer owned derive their colours from their primary sponsor.
The present silver Mcleren is not based on Mercedes but rather their primary sponsor West.

Thanks mate, we might first have a few arguments in 2006 though
Yeah, I used to be a massive Mclaren supporter in the Senna days, hence my love for the Marlboro colour scheme. Yeah I look forward to FA in the red & white Mclaren in a year from now

Team McLaren Mercedes MP4-20 to test in interim orange livery
Test drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett will be at the wheel of two interim MP4-20's, which will be running in an orange livery, prior to the launch of the new Team McLaren Mercedes livery in mid-February. The orange is synonymous with the origins of McLaren, as the team ran its Formula One and CAN-AM racers in the colour for a number of years starting with the M5A in 1968.
This week marks the start of 28 intensive on-track test days currently scheduled for the team in Valencia, Barcelona, Imola and Jerez leading up to the opening race of the 2006 World Championship, the Bahrain Grand Prix, on Sunday 12th March. Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya will be starting their programmes during the week commencing Monday 16th January.
Further information about the first run of MP4-21, which will be some time in January and the 2006 livery launch will follow in due course.

I like it. I'd love to see a orange car on the grid again. Unfortuantly the orange isnt going to be on the race car.
