Christian Fittipaldi will make his A1 Grand Prix debut this weekend for Brazil in Indonesia.
The former Minardi Formula One driver, nephew of Brazil team chief Emerson Fittipaldi, steps in to replace Nelson Piquet Jr, who is tied up testing for his second season of GP2.
Fittipaldi, who scored Minardi's highest-ever F1 finish of fourth place during his two years with the team, will stay in the car for the races in the United States and Mexico.
He said: "I am happy to be representing the Brazilian team and taking over where Nelsinho left off.
"I have been following the races and I believe that the team is very competitive.
"I'm especially looking forward to racing again in Monterrey and Laguna Seca, two tracks that I know very well."
