The chief designer job, empty since the beginning of 2006, has been given earlier this year to Ed Wood, a former Prodrive, Ferrari and Renault designer. He will be joined by John Russell who has already worked ten years for Williams before becomming chief designer at Jaguar Racing in 2000. Sam Michael's role is also said to be redifined to spend more time at the factory.

Wasn't this announced awhile ago.. minus the Sam bit. Glad that his role looks to be changing, IMO he wasn't doing much where he was.

Actually the Sam bit was announced around July. This news is dated October 25, 2006. It's a summary of all the new appointees Williams has made this year, to give the quite correct impression that the team is not stagnating, but actively moving forward.
