Well lets sum up so far...

With a third of the cars unveiled this is my take on it...

Toyota: No surprises, the usual bore fest

Ferrari: again no real surprises, not bad looking, don't really like the new colour scheme.

Mclaren: Not so different than last year but in my opinion looks like a front runner. Colour scheme not really a surprise.

Renault: Not even launched yet but has the most interest so far, only a couple of grainy pictures, cant be the final livery, but without a doubt the best looking so far.

I suppose i should do a predictions thing also....

BMW Sauber:  A better aero package, not very revolutionary, but a nice little package, more blue in the colour scheme.

Honda: For me Honda/BAR are a little like Toyota, sure faster but the cars are often similar to their predecessors, im not expecting "WOW", but im expecting a respectable car. Livery: I hope its VERY green!

Williams: What can I say?, poor Williams. I hope they do better with Toyota  engines. But with the car? I dont know is the simple answer.

Spyker: Something similar to last year, no surprises.

Red Bull: Mclaren/ Renaultesque, curvy with alot of flicks and flips all over it. Same old livery with the new sponsor (cant remember what it is)

Torro Rosso: See above, with a few subtle differences, Exactly the same livery as last year.

Super aguri: see Honda, with a few subtle differences, Livery , Who knows? (Red and white)

What do you guys think?

AussieF1, i think this isn´t the final livery, cause it doesn´t make sense for AT&T to pay a large amount of cash for just that minimal space, and it is the FW28 yet, but with the FW29 livery. And as far as i know the car is still missing the DHL sponsorship, Philips have increased their sponsorship level, Mobilecast and Bud finished their contracts with Williams and have left the ship, oh and Lenovo (who just bough IBM for billions of dollars) have joined too, but that you can see by the pictures :D

I really, really, really want to see the new RB3. Its rather annoying that teams that dont interest me like BMW and Toyota have launched their cars while Red Bull has not. I want to know what the RB3 looks like as i expect it to look very different compared to the RB2.

They are changing it as they will have a as of yet unnamed sponsor for this season.

Honda to shakedown new car on Monday

According to reports on Autosport, the new 2007 Honda will undergo a shakedown at the Silverstone circuit next Monday, the 22nd of January ahead of its first official launch at the Barcelona circuit in Spain a few days later.

The idea behind the shakedown is to ensure that everything runs smoothly when the new car is officially presented to the world.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully we will get too see some photo's of this shakedown.

I said a while back in a thread that the yellow camera pod was the 3rd car (friday car)... This was the case up until last season.
But the FIA have apparently brought out a new rule that along with the number 1 driver having a red camera as has been the case for the last few seasons, the number 2 driver as of this season will have a yellow camera.

Heres the rule according to the FIA’s 2007 Formula One Sporting Regulations::

Quote

In order that the cars of each team may be easily distinguished from one another whilst they are on the track, the on board camera located above the principle roll structure of the first car must be predominantly fluorescent red and the second car fluorescent yellow.

Same Feelings for McLaren :) ...

In General the only teams that have launched updated cars so far are :

Renault , Ferrari , Red Bull , Williams and Honda

Meanwhile each of Toyota and McLaren have re-painted their old cars :P except for some tweaks on the cars following the new rules of FIA ..

Im not sure how on earth you can say Ferrari Have changed their livery for 2007 and Mclaren havent...
The both pretty much the same but for some minor tweaks.

The thing is, and I admitted this last season despite not supporting Mclaren then... Mclaren in my opinion were by far the best looking car in 2006 and I believe the same for 2007.
They are the benchmark for a hot livery!

What i said is that the McLaren team have only repainted the old cars with some tweaks onto the car , i also didn't say that Ferrari have changed their livery i said they have updated the car in general look at the 06 car and the 07 car it's updated meanwhile look at McLaren the same nose , the same aero work and still the same ! some updates on the car yes but not as Renault did or Honda did ... McLaren have re-painted the old car , they have replaced each of Jhonnie Walker and Fly Emirates by the Vodafone logos !

Still so far the best livery arround is the Ferrari for me ... a completly red car with some white stripes on it ...

Mclaren wouldn't have splashed the cash on the most expensive driver in formula 1 and then not built a decent car for the occasion.
Everyone wrote off Alonso at the beginning of the 2006 season, and he/Renault shocked us all, this could be another shocking season for Alonso haters!

i challenge you to find any post where i wrote of Alonso for the 2006 season. I always thought that Alonso had a decent chance of becoming the 2006 champion.

Not you... As far as I can remember the following people at some stage said the V8 Renault/Alonso combination would not be able to challenge for the title...
Jemstride, Jenson_Rulz & Every kimi & Ferrari fan
I also remember JayFunke saying Fissi would challenge Alonso ^_^

Lets go search for the 2006 prediction thread... that should be entertaining

Ok looking at the 2006 predictions... 2006 Predictions Thread
Jenson_rulz, Jemstride, narain fan & silvermachine all said Alonso would finish 2006 3rd...

Here's quotes from funkejay the Fissi fan talking about FA vs GF in 2006. So in other words he agrees Fernando is great now!

View Postfunkejay, on Jan 9 2006, 04:10 PM, said:

Absolutely, and if FA beats Fisi again by a fair margin, then there will be no question that he is the better driver.

View Postfunkejay, on Jan 19 2006, 10:21 PM, said:

Thanks cavallino for the support, but Wez and I have agreed to table our disagreement until the season starts, and then the results will tell the tale!!!!! May the best prognosticator win........

Finally here are my manufacturers predictions made on 16 Jan 2006. You can also go read in the same thread that I said Alonso would win the drivers.

View PostWez, on Jan 16 2006, 01:10 PM, said:

For the record my Manufacturer predictions (as of Jan 2006... These might change slightly prior to Bahrain).
1. Renault(Dont ever under estimate them)
2. Ferrari (Similar comment to Renault)
3. Mclaren (Just need to sort out the engines)
4. BAR (Ummm)
5. Toyota (Need to sort out the drivers)
6. BMW Sauber (Team for the future, will surprise this year)
7. Williams (Will NOT improve from last year when switching Bmw for Cosworth)
8. Red Bull (SO so)
9. Torra Rossa (Red Bull should use this money on their main team)
10. Aguri (Honda wasting big time money here)
11. Midland F1 (Cant see them improving from where they ended last year)
Switch Bmw & Toyota around and I had it spot on... Call me Fcuking good if you will!!!! Thank you thank you!

Credit to Ykick who did also predict Alonso & Renault to take both titles!
