Jordan will be quite a bit better in 2004 than they were in 2003 – although I doubt they’ll record any more wins, fluky or not!  They will have the same engine as Jaguar, Nick Heidfeld as a driver, better financial security thanks to a renewed deal with BH, Bridgestone tyres- there is no point Jordan being on Michelin because when their tyres are the best Jordan will still be outperformed by their rivals.  However when it’s a Bridgestone day, Jordan could perform much better than many of her rivals, particularly when it’s raining – this might create unusual results like those witnessed in Brazil, only perhaps not quite as unusual as that!  I hope, being British, that they also take a British driver (my choice would be either Wilson or McNish).

Jordan will bounce back but this will be eventually not this year.  I do predict that BAR will score as many wins as Jordan and Jaguar this year.  Not really an out there prediction I know!

I agree Jordan weren’t the best team in 2003 - far from it - but this year I think they have made real improvements to the car.  I do feel sorry for Jordan as recently they haven’t had much success but you’ve got to like Eddie Jordan.  As for the slow teams not doing very well in Australia Webber, you’ve got to remember the performance of another Australian with an identical name a few years ago…

My guess is that it will be quite similar to Sato and Fisichella in 2002, although not so bad and without all the crashing!

I assume from your avatar that you are a Jordan fan.  If that is so how can you defend Sato?  He cost your team millions of $ in 2002, was outpaced by Fisi and gave you 2 points as a reward – if that happened to any other fan they would say that, that driver was, at the very least, a disappointment.

Probably one of the reasons Jordan did so badly in 2003, excluding the fluke win, was because you were still paying off the cost of Takuma Sato’s debut year and didn’t have any more money to invest in the car!  This, along with the lost Vodafone case would have severely hurt Eddie Jordan’s finances.  Which played a factor in loosing Fisichella as had the Jordan car been better, had money been invested in the team, he might have stayed and so all these problems are either because of or have been compounded by Takuma Sato.  Sato hurt your team badly.

The reasons for Jordans demise are numerous, and Sato is certianly not one of the causes despite his record.

The engine and the chassis last year were terrible, this year Jordan have a very clear benchmark using the same engine as Jag, but the tyres are really where its at.

Lets hope they can at least be in there mixing it with Jag / toyota / Sauber. But the early signs are not great.

I expect both Sato and Pantano to perform solidly if unspetacularly this season. In Satos case this would provide a very good platform for the future. The guys has speed, just needs to cool it a bit.

Jordan should sell up to a car manufacturer as they’re continually regressing in F1.  Further more, Eddie Jordan seems more bothered about image and parties and less bothered about results and racing - It may seem a harsh verdict but I think it’s a very fair assessment.

It would be in the best interest of Jordan GP and F1 in general if Eddie sold his team to a respectable car manufacturer.  Why do you feel that F1 can’t afford to loose Eddie?  Manufactures will continue to dominate F1 in the coming years, its almost inevitable unless action is taken to reduce costs…

I feel that Eddie is a unique character that F1 needs.  No other team boss is like him and I guess he is one of the last remnants of a lost era of F1.

Yep, agree with that. He's lost his way big time lately, but hopefully he'll get his mind back on business and help the team back up.

"You just don't mess with Jacques Villeneuve" - Murray Walker, 1997 Hungarian GP.
"When Jacques was with us, he was a very aggressive driver, fiercely competitive, mentally hard as nails. Very quick with it, very gifted. A bright fellow, undoubtedly, very intelligent. He was an absolutely born racing driver - look at the way he'd bang wheels with Michael, pass people on the outside, that kind of thing" -Sir Frank Williams on Jacques Villeneuve
"This year, with BMW, JV's going very well, and I'm pleased for him. Whether or not he'll get a drive next year I don't know, but I hope he does, he's an unusual, and very strong addition to the F1 community. A character." - Sir Frank Williams again on Jacques Villeneuve
The Nojvnof1 2006 driver lineup - Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christian Klein, Scott Speed.

EJ will hopefuly get back to F1 and stop warrying about some cort case. it was his fucl that Jordan did so bad last year but maby if he puts 2 or 3 hard years into it thay might become a mid-feld team again.

The only realistic way I can see Jordan progressing up the field, short of selling out to a major car company, is if they become a B-Team to Toyota or another big team.  They’re unlikely to attract good drivers or personnel as they’re currently in a dire state; just a second or so clear of the Minardi team!  They don’t really nature young talent and this too would help...
