Watch, wonder and bow down

Ofcourse, every team has its own test methods so we cannot realy make proper comparison, but still.

You mean the right hand dial at aroud 3:40?

I'm pretty sure that's exhaust temperature, not BHP.
Least imaginitive name. Ever.

How about this one then, a turbo with the wastegate wide open untill the driver presses the boost button, then the wastegate returns enough boost to make another 75bhp for 8 seconds.  Standard ECU to prevent abuse. Monitored constantly. Only allowed to use it if there is a car close in front, and a penalty given if the driver doesn't make an attempt to pass. We like?

If I remeber corectly Honda anounced either at the 2005 Suzuka or China GP that they've reached the 1000 hp barrier.

Ofcourse after talking about this on the Renault blog we were told that there is no standard and that every team has it's way of measuring hp output.

Non the less it's imprsssive for a NA 3 ltr V10 witch doesn't use magnetic valve gears, nor exotic materials, nor exotic/rocket derived fuel like the turbos of the 1980s.
