Now that would be fast and thrilling...
What woulf the 575 do???

So? New isn't always better. Just like you got uglier when you got a new plastic penis, the 575 got uglier whn they added 24 to it.
Good for it.
In all seriousness:
I'm not a competent driver. No one on TF1 is. If you or me took it out, we'd be 2 minutes off MSC's pace. Competent driver means close but not quite Schumi...perhaps Jenson Button or Mark Webber could get 1 second off.

As thrilling as an amusement park ride and almost as rewarding.

^ Nah. 599 is better, and you could always switch the TC off.
A real F1 TC is custom made to fit the driver's style, the chassis and the track and therefor is rewritten every time.
One particular form of TC (there are several) is to give control of the slip angles. Put that into a production car and instead of a safety nanny the TC becomes certified death (for the majority of drivers out there).

A1GP has agreed a deal with Ferrari for a supply of engines for their series for six years from the start of the 2008/2009 season.
Following months of discussions, A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira confirmed the news this morning, as well as announcing that Ferrari will consult the series on the design and manufacture of chassis.
Speaking about the deal, Teixeira said: "Partnering with a world-class organisation like Ferrari will officially position A1GP as one of the most significant motorsport series in the world.
"Ferrari will add significant value to our brand and in our opinion there is no better partner to progress the series.
"We will be meeting with our commercial partners over the next few weeks to discuss the multitude of exciting opportunities that this partnership presents.
"Ferrari has a global presence through its dealer network. We will be working closely with them to ensure that they are a part of every A1GP World Cup of Motorsport event."
A1GP has also announced the formation of A2GP, a regional championship that Ferrari will also be involved in.

It's more than talk now...

The first A1GP chassis to be designed by Ferrari will be loosely based on the Italian manufacturer's current Formula One car, this week's Autosport reports.
The deal for Ferrari to build engines and supply chassis designs was confirmed on Thursday morning, and the new cars will be ready to race in time for the 2008/09 season.
Speaking to this week's Autosport magazine, A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira said that while the car would be based on a Formula One car, it would need to be modified sufficiently to provide good racing.
"We will always have cars that will overtake each other, that's most important to us," he said. "F1 cars in their current format aren't going to do that for us.
"Obviously Ferrari has to start somewhere in designing our car, and we have agreed that it will start off looking like the F2007 Ferrari.
"But it will have to accommodate the bigger engine, so it will have a different back and some how will keep something of what A1 looks like today.
"I honestly believe that with Ferrari designers it will be an incredible looking car."
Teixeira also feels that the six-year deal proves that the series has a long-term future.
"We are sick and tired of critics telling us we are not going to be around next year," he added. "This shows that someone like Ferrari has actually seen the huge potential of what A1 can actually pick up."

Also, it will be based on the current Ferrari, very interesting news indeed...(not sure that's a good thing)

They can say whatever they want...an F2007 will NOT overtake itself.
Also, the F2007 is sooo ugly. The current car is ugly, too, and uglier than an F2007...but the high, bulbus nose is just putrid...and the fins on the nose are hideous. blehh blehhh blehhhhhh.

I think from a commercial standpoint, Ferrari has done a very good deal... They provide both the chasis and the engine...
So this could help with the development of the car for Ferrari in F1 as well....
And of course producing in bulk will help Ferrari cut down costs...

Why?
You might just have the biggest evidence ever for your spec car arguement.
If they do run F2007s...technically those could be considered spec F1 cars, and if the racing is good, one could conclude that spec cars are the way to go.
Watch Murray watch.
Also watch DOF, as you might have huge evidence supporting why spec cars suck for F1.
With that said, hate to be a pessimist, but I think DOF's gunna have mighty fine evidence after the 2008-2009 season.
