well, here it is. pretty much just 07 spyker with redone paint. the new things are really only under the hood, new transmission and apparently work has been done to increase balance.

the thing that really amazes me is that a team like FI hasn't plastered every inch of their car with sponsors. the front wing is totally blank.

I take it that the green bins in the background of the second photo contain all the spare bits they couldn't fit into the car :)

When is the official launch?

These pictures look like sneak pics while setting up for the event.

It does look very similar to the Spyker, are we sure it is the 08 car?

Anyways, while I hope they do well, and if it is the new car, two words spring to mind when I see it "simple" and "clunky" I had expected more from Gascoyne.

Force India are one of the few teams who are not having an official launch, I think that's most likely because they haven't really got a 'new' car.

At least that cash injection is being spent on the car not on lavish launches.

Mike Gascoyne will have another new car mid year as normal I should expect.

Apparently the Delhi launch was quite lavish but i am sure the team didn't pay for it with its extra 50 mil

Oh that's right, a bollywood actor paid for the launch in Delhi didn't he????

It wasn't covered well by the F1 media IMO.

That's who I was thinking of.

Would you agree the media coverage of the Force India launch was shocking. Maybe because 1) the launch wasn't in Europe and 2) Force India are not yet.............. how can I say it.......... front runners.

Might be standard Indian dress? AJ might be able to inform us better.

I like how neither Vijay or Colin are wearing the jacket and pants combo

Looks a great livery to me.

Not sure about the aero, looks a bit basic.

Hope they wear those overalls all season. :P

Can't wait to play as Fisi on the next game with this car.

Need a new banner too.

Well they earned a point last season...And for sure in the first half to 3/4 of the season they will be back back markers but after that i think they would improve to be backmarkers/midfield...

FI launch was made in Delhi to try and get a few Indian sponsers, which is surprising as none of the big family names in India have invested in it...

1) I was in India when this happened and the coverage in our newspapers were pretty decent, all newspapers had this in their sports section. Unfortunatly for mallaya the whole cricket scandal happened (which i was surprised not to find a topic in the cafe about) and the front page were obviously covered with those details...

2) Had they been backmarekers also they would have gotten a little more coverage, but being back backmarkers was their biggest problem..

For the northern parts of India, that would be the formal dress people wear... I have had to wear something similar(not leather obv) for a few weddings...

I am sure they would kill themselves if they had to wear it during the races... It is quite uncomfortable and tight and hot in that dress..

Yeah I can imagine the media coverage would have been good in India. Pity it was all happening at the same time the trouble in the cricket was happening.

I'll let the cricket saga go through to the keeper :P
