Quote from Nick identifying some major probelms with the F1.08

Quote

"We have understeer and oversteer, and too much of both," he is quoted as saying by the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport.

Looks like "Albert2" has some work to do before Melbourne to cure the balance issues.

If they cannot cure the poor balance I wonder if BMW will modify the F1.07 to 2008 specs and complete the first three fly away races with the old car while the F1.08 is being developed??

"We're lucky we don't build aeroplanes" - Mark Webber on Red Bulls reliability issues at the Australian Grand Prix 2008.

Would sure make sense, might even work well for those races, while some teams are still figuring out their cars...

But then Honda spent an entire season plugging away at a new car with an identical issue, some say it would have been better to revert back, but they never did :-(

Looking at the above photo, it looks like they should turn it off.

I don't mind the fins coming from th enose but they sure have gone a bit mental with the aero elsewhere.

Way too much going on, and is surely not helping the balance.

I agree that they should perhaps go back to the 07 car to get a bit more of an idea of what they are doing wrong.

I agree, the F1.08 has the busiest aero of the 2008 cars without doubt.

Seems as though they may have race pace, as opposed to one lap pace according to well regarded experts.

I thought some people suspected they were often heavy fuelled in winter testing, so that would indicate that they do have some good race pace.

Apparently balance was a problem in testing, like Honda last year but that appears to be slightly more under control now and would explain slower times in testing.

I'm rly interesting what BMW Sauber made new for Barcelona.
What aero parts they change front, back ?
We have to w8 to Monday.

We know they have good fast car and
I think they made something to be faster on straight and still be faster on corners.
Maybe thay work to have better balance now Nick and Robert have some prob with this on track.

Im w8 opinions. :)

I didn't like the BMW, I thought it would be an ugly disaster but hey it works. A bit disappointed after Barcelona but maybe it is not a BMW track.

We'll see.

Fray Luis de León said:

As we were saying yesterday...
Fray Luis de León wrote mystical poems which prompted Cervantes to proclaim León "a genius who astounds the world and who, in ecstasy, might rob us of our senses." León was also an active man who taught at the University of Salamanca, translated classical and biblical literature, and wrote on religious themes. Twice denounced before the Inquisition, he was imprisoned for "heresy," though he returned to the University to later hold the chairs of Moral Philosophy and Biblical Studies.

Tradition has it that he began his lecture the first day after returning from four years' imprisonment with the words "as we were saying yesterday..."
