Yes, that's last years dog.

This year will see a major resurgence for Honda, the team will gel better, be more confident and determined.  The car will steadily improve through the year, becoming a top three contender towards the end of season, ready for further success in '09.

Jense will have some stirring battles near the front, wiping the smile off the occasionally(!) over confident young whipper-snapper Hammy.  Indeed, in the wet/damp he'll be giving Massa a damn good thraping, so close to the front they will be.

That is my prediction.

Why?

Because I desperately want it to be so :P

Livery so far is rerrible. :P

Seriously though, they need to start being a bit more brave. Not talking about the livery really but it doesn't look nearly curvy enough.

Maybe we'll see them develop it as the season goes on.

The new one doesn't look much different to me... I can see some differences, but not that many... Plus it seems to lack little aero tricks like a the winglets and whatnot, compared to the top cars.

If that's the earth livery again, it must be after the nuclear winter.

Rather lame for a first impression.

Honda have produced another s##tbox it seems

No, I don't really know enough about the cars to make a full judgement, but it doesn't look great to me.

I think the aero department at Honda has resorted to guessing now. How sad. After Ross seen the RA108 design for the first time it must have brought back scary memories of when he arrived at Ferrari to see the John Barnard designed Ferrari 310B (A square odd looking sh!tbox).

The nose looks like the Arrows A23 or SA05 if you will.

Ugly car indeed.

It looks like the Harvey postlewhaite still-born Honda from years back....and the lap times seem to confirm as much.

Maybe the livery was inspired by a Japanese snow storm or something?

One has to wonder, for such a huge manufacturer, that had such successful engines in the 80's, why they can't design something better...a damn Robosapian would probably go faster....

Jorg Zander & Ross have a hell of alot to do.

Anyone know when Jorg Zander actually joined Honda?? Was it immediately when he left BMW - Sauber in July or did he have to wait till till the 1st January?

Nope. I love all the Arrows from 99-02 they were all pretty good looking.

This Honda however is not looking that good, and I don't think it'll be a fast car by 2008 standards.

Plain white cars always look crap and boring - put some pretty colours on, or if it had have been the traditional testing black, then it would look completely different.

High nose cars will never look pretty, and winglets and chimneys? - these will never make a car look sexy. Ever.

OK, I'm heavily biased 'cos I want Jense at the front of the pack, but in the first few days of testing a new car?  Any conclusions are worthless.  Still, I find it hard to imagine they will be hugely improved from last year at the start of this year - I'll be happy if they make steady progress upward over the year, and I believe they will  - this will be where Ross will show his strengths.

The design team (especially aero) have all come from teams that have seen huge improvement for their teams in the past.  This gives me hope, along with my Rosary Beads ;)

I haven't based my opinion on their first day of testing, mainly just the look of the car and what I'd expected even before seeing it.

No worries Sato.  I'm talking through desperation and being sick of trying to see Jense at the start, he and Rubens are that far back they don't get much camera coverage <_<

Don't worry, they are just sandbagging. Now they seem like they are 5 secs off pace. But at Melbourne they will show their true pace: 4 seconds off pace.

OK.  Rub salt in my open wounds.  Kick a man when he's down. Leak on his bonfire. :P

The force is strong in young Jenson, he will never go back to the Dark Side, aka Renault  ;)  He will flog the dead horse known as Honda until omnipitent Obi-Ross works his magic.  And sacks the design team

The problem isn't with young Jenson, but the problem is his team, that sucks, he needs to go to another one and win a few races then retire...

Its not that bad of an eyesore to look at but in the top picture it is understeering quite badly.
So with that being the case, and with Honda's biggest problem last season being understeer, it looks like another battling season for Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, in car Number 16 and 17 Respectively.
