(Well, we did this when India won, so I figured I'd do it for the US, even though no one cares about A1)

I wish Team Australia be more competitive, getting beaten by the likes of some countries without motorsport industry is nothing short of utter embarrassment.

"Giancarlo, you are still two seconds a lap slower than Fernando, this cannot be possible you have the same fuel load, I know you have some understeer but you cannot be two seconds slower, COME ON"!!!! - Alan Permane, Fisichellas race engineer, 2006 Australian Grand Prix
"We're lucky we don't build aeroplanes" - Mark Webber on Red Bulls reliability issues at the Australian Grand Prix 2008.

I agree. I wish V8 Supercar teams would permit their drivers to take part in some of the races that fall outside of the V8 Supercar season. I think I'm dreaming though

On the subject, I gotta say I love that series. I'm really hoping Dale Jr and his relationship with Paul Morris, as well as Boris Said racing in the V8s sometime soon-ish, can get some sort of a deal where we could get some NASCAR drivers in V8s for a one-off and some V8 drivers in NASCAR for a one-off. It's definitely a dream, but I'd love to see guys like Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, some of NASCAR's road racing best, driving "stock cars" that are designed for a road course and are a lot more stock.

I can't remember Marcos Ambrose driving in Champ Car but I do remember Jason Bright driving at Surfers one year (2000?).

Currently weather is p**sing down, road outside is flooded and only three days till they race...so maybe a wet one.

I drove past the old Brisbane Airport yesterday as the V8's were being loading for the trip to Kiwi land.
It will carnage if it's wet. I was speaking to one of the mechanics from Stone Brother's and he is expecting their cars to carry the same suspension settings as they ran in Adelaide and should therefore be quite quick.

The track is kind of like the tighter sections of Adelaide - not so sure it's conducive to overtaking. But then, I'm no a V8 Supercar driver and maybe they can see something I can't.
I'll be watching from the comfort of my sofa, even though it takes about 25mins to walk to the track from home...prices compared to Melbourne F1 is almost double per day, and the Grandstand views are good for about 500m and thats it (if that).
Can't wait till Hampton Downs is finished...V8's and A1 will go there (and it's also home track for Formula Juniors so that T75 of Pop's will be clocking up a few laps there!!) Here's the track http://www.hamptondowns.com/Track.wse - has major elevation change too, which you can't tell from the map.
