Sauber chassis passes crash tests

While the team are yet to announce a race driver for the 2013 season, technical progress on the new car is well underway as the team have revealed its chassis is now homologated.

The Swiss team's 2014 chassis has passed all required crash tests.

"The chassis of the C33 has passed all static and dynamic tests of the FIA and is officially homologated," the team said in a statement.

"The rear crash test, which is not part of the chassis homologation, will take place separately at a later date, as usual."

Even though confirmation is lacking, the team's early chassis homologation is a first step in making sure that its entire car passes all crash tests in order to be able to run the first pre-season test from January 28 at Jerez with its new car.
