Force India have confirmed Nico Hulkenberg will remain with the team in 2015

"He is one of the best talents on the grid," says Vijay Mallya

Force India have confirmed Nico Hulkenberg will remain with the team in 2015, describing the German as “one of the most exciting drivers on the Formula 1 grid.”

It will be the first time in Hulkenberg’s F1 career that he has raced for the same team in two successive seasons having driven for Williams, Force India and Sauber since 2010.

The 27-year-old is currently eighth in the standings having scored points in 13 of the 16 races and is hoping to build on that momentum by remaining with Force India.

“It’s good to confirm my plans for next season,” Hulkenberg said.

“This is a team I know extremely well and we’ve enjoyed a great year together with some special results. The team has big ambitions and I believe we can have a competitive package once again next year.

“We have a strong partner in Mercedes and everyone in the team is motivated and hungry for more success. I have a good feeling for 2015 and there is a lot to be excited about as we try to build on the results we have achieved this year.”

Team Principal Vijay Mallya added that Hulkenberg has been key in helping his team challenge McLaren for fifth in the Constructors’ Championship
