Jerez: Sebastian Vettel to debut Ferrari

Fernando Alonso and Valtteri Bottas also in action on opening day; Lewis Hamilton to test Mercedes W06 for the first time on Monday

Sebastian Vettel will debut the 2015 Ferrari at Jerez this Sunday on what promises to be a fascinating start to the winter season.

Although Ferrari are yet to formally confirm their driver line-up for the four-day test, which starts at 8am UK time on Sunday, the former world champion has been listed as driving on the first two days of the event on the circuit’s website.

Vettel will then hand over new car - to be known as the SF15-T - to team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. The 2015 Ferrari will itself be unveiled on Friday in an online launch.

Fernando Alonso and the MP4-30 are, however, bound to be the focus of attention on Sunday when the Spaniard kick-starts the new McLaren-Honda era by taking the team's new car for its first run.

Jenson Button will be in action on Monday and Wednesday, with Alonso completing his week's work on Tuesday.

Williams, who have already offered fans a preview of their 2015 car, the FW37, will deploy Valtteri Bottas on the opening two days of the test before Felipe Massa takes over driver duties on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nico Rosberg will drive the new Mercedes, the W06, on the first and third days of the test, with world champion Lewis Hamilton running, like Button, on Monday and Wednesday.

More from 2015 Testing And Launches

Meanwhile, Sauber, who will launch their new car on the same day as Ferrari, have also confirmed they will be present for the test.

New recruit Marcus Ericsson, signed from Caterham in November, will run on the first and last days of the test, with rookie team-mate Felipe Nasr driving on days two and three.

For Toro Rosso, Carlo Sainz will be in action on days one and three, with fellow rookie team-mate Max Verstappen on duty for days two and four in southern Spain.

Red Bull and Lotus are yet to announce their plans for the test, while Force India are missing the week completely after deciding not to launch their new car until the Barcelona test in mid-February.

Sky Sports F1 Online will be providing live commentary on all four days of the test from dawn to dusk, while the Sky F1 channel will be providing a nightly round-up from 9pm, starting with Paddock Uncut and followed by Ted's Notebook.
