Nico Rosberg record the fastest lap in the second practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. Under artificial light and in much cooler conditions that FP1, Rosberg was faster than team mate Lewis Hamilton.

Raikkonen was the third fastest man, just like in the first practice session quicker than his team mate Sebastian Vettel. The latter caused a brief stoppage of the session as he got his front wing broken on the pitlane exit. The German Ferrari driver came out of the pits and saw Nasr with Perez come alongside him, cutting across him as they followed the normal racing line. Vettel's front wing however made contact with the right rear wheel of Perez' Force India, resulting in a front wing failure and the stewards announcing an investigation into the incidents after the session.

Valtteri Bottas nearly matched Vettel's time, topping Ricciardo, Maldonado, Kvyat, Nasr and Massa.

Several drivers were again seen having off-track excursions without any damage, while Jenson Button was once again hitting technical trouble, coming to a halt on only his third lap of the session. His team however managed to rectify the problem in around 45 minutes, allowing the Brit to get some running after having managed just 2 laps in FP1.
