Andreas Seidl is set to join a top F1 team in a senior position. The former Porsche World Endurance Championship team boss is rumoured to be returning to F1 after prior experience in the sport with BMW Sauber.

Although there is no team officially attached to the signing of Seidl yet, Ferrari, Williams and McLaren are all teams that are most likely to be in the picture, with rumours of a reshuffle at Ferrari during the offseason ongoing and with Williams and McLaren looking to recover from their dismal seasons.

Seidl was tasked with helping Porsche's transformation from LMP1 outfit to Formula E team after their WEC programme shut down after the 2017 season. Porsche's long-rumoured foray into F1 appears to be on hold for now, it appears as though Seidl will be making the move to Formula One anyway.

No role has been officially announced yet but Motorsport.com indicate that a team principal position would be perfect for the ex-Porsche man. His time with BMW Sauber also strengthens links to Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari, having worked with the four-time world champion at the BMW Sauber team back when Vettel was a rookie.

McLaren and Williams' struggles could lead to further changes being made, with large-scale changes already underway at McLaren and Williams beginning to reorganise their house in the hopes of a comeback. Zak Brown and Claire Williams are suggested by Motorsport.com as potential casualties for the incoming Seidl.
