Minor alternations made to Monza circuit

Minor alterations have been made to the kerbing of the Monza circuit ahead of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, in a bid to avoid a repeat of incidents similar to that experienced by Jean-Éric Vergne in 2012. Last season’s race saw the Frenchman become airborne over the Turn 1 chicane, having earlier lost control under braking. With his car entering the corner sideways-on the kerbing launched the Toro Rosso driver into the air. In order to remedy the situation, circuit officials have lengthened the leading edges of the kerbs at the apexes of turns 1 and 4 Other modifications include the extension of the kerbs at the first Lesmo in order to prevent damage to the grass verge, and the...
