Record 21 F1 races lined up for 2014, includes Mexico

A record 21 races will feature on next year’s calendar should the FIA World Motor Sport Council approve the first draft of the schedule, which was revealed on Thursday. The provisional calendar, revealed by Autosport, does not feature the Grand Prix of America at New Jersey, amid recent speculation that the organisers were finding it difficult to stage the event. Austria makes a return to Formula 1 after a decade-long gap with Mexico making a surprise entry into the list, the latter provided the facilities and track are ready.
