Ferrari given fine for pit lane incident

Ferrari has been fined 10,000 euros (8423 pounds) after Felipe Massa crossed the pit exit line under a red light during this morning's first practice session at Monza. The bizarre incident was triggered when the Brazilian locked up behind team-mate Fernando Alonso and slid over the white line just after the red light had come on. Massa subsequently told race engineer Rob Smedley over the team radio: "The light was red so I braked and I stopped after the line. I don't know if it's OK or not." After viewing the available television footage and assessing telemetry data, the stewarding panel – led by Danny Sullivan – opted against more than a fine. A report issued by the stewards...
