2014 Austrian GP gets local approval

– The Austrian Grand Prix has got the green light, with local authorities setting the crowd capacity at 225,000 for the three-days. Prior to the new agreement, the race-day crowd capacity was set at 40,000, which obviously wouldn’t have been workable for an F1 event. “I can confirm the grand prix has got permission [to go ahead]," Harald Schnedl of the District Commission Murtalbahn told Kleine Zeitung this week. “The permit allows a maximum of 225,000 visitors over the three days of the race weekend,” he added.
