Red Bull Ring gets green light for Austrian GP

The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg has received permission from the local government to host the Austrian Grand Prix in June, meaning that the final hurdle for holding the race has been co-ordinated. Having last hosted the race in 2003, the circuit has been heavily redeveloped and improved thanks to investment from drinks giant Red Bull. Despite these changes, the decision to take F1 back to Austria came as a surprise to many, but it was confirmed in the summer that a deal had been brokered. Although it was unlikely to be rejected, the local government has formally approved the race in Spielberg according to Kleine Zeitung, meaning that the way is clear for the race to take place on 22nd...
