Austrian circuit gets green light

It is all systems go for the return of the Austrian Grand Prix with the Red Bull Ring finally given regional government approval to host the race. The FIA rubberstamped the event for June 22 in its 2014 calendar, but the track in Spielberg still needed permission from the Styria government. However, all the loose ends have now been tied up and the country will be part of the Formula One season for the first time since 2003. According to Autosport, the Red Bull Ring - which used to be known as the Osterreichring and then the A1-Ring in later years - will only be able to accommodate 225,000 people over the three days.
