STR duo opt for birth dates
New Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat has revealed his birthday is behind his number '26' in the Formula One Championship. For the first time this season, the Formula One drivers have been handed permanent numbers with each driver getting to choose his own. And while some have opted for iconic numbers in racing, the Toro Rosso drivers based theirs, 25 and 26, on their date of birth. Explaining the choices, a short statement on the STR website read: "Why? Because the numbers correspond to their birthdates, JEV on 25th April and Daniil one day and a few years later on 26th April."
