Ferrari protege Marciello to race in GP2
Marciello won the F3 European championship in 2013. Scuderia Ferrari
Ferrari protege Raffaele Marciello will race in GP2 this season.
Marciello won the Formula Three European championship in 2013 and was a frontrunner during post-season testing in Formula Renault 3.5 Series and GP2.
Ferrari did not confirm which team Marciello would join, but the 19 year old Italian tested for Trident and Racing Engineering at the end of 2013.
"2014 will be a crucial year for him, as he will compete in a series that is on the threshold of Formula 1 - GP2," said Luca Baldisserri, head of the Ferrari driver academy.
