V6 power units won't be any slower - Renault

Renault Sport F1's deputy managing director Rob White doesn't believe the new V6 engines will result in a slower laptime compared the V8 engines. Some had feared the new engines would be slower, but that hasn't been the case during factory testing. It's likely the new aerodynamic regulations will slow the cars however, with the complete loss of exhaust blowing. Speaking about the new 1.6 litre V6 turbo-charged engines, which will debut on track in just under a week, White said he fully expects them to "retain the present speed".
