Sakhir to host night race

The Bahrain Grand Prix will be a night event in 2014, it was confirmed on Wednesday. The floodlights that will be used during the April 6 race were trialled at the World Endurance Championship race last November. Both qualifying and the race will start at 6pm local time (4pm GMT), while Friday's first practice starts at 2pm local time, second practice from 6pm and Saturday's practice at 3pm. "This is by far the biggest development project we have ever undertaken at the BIC since the circuit was first built," Chief Executive of the Bahrain International Circuit Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa said.
