Alexander a passé 46 ans en F1. Il y a débuté en tant que mécanicien avant de devenir l'un des techniciens clé de l'équipe puis de prendre sa retraite en 2009. Il a récemment publié le livre Inside McLaren (Au sein de McLaren) relatant son expérience dans cette équipe. McLaren a confirmé, sans donner davantage de précision que ce grand serviteur de Woking et de la F1 était hospitalisé. N S
