Symonds: Williams F1 on the up

– Williams’ chief technical officer Pat Symonds believes the team is 'on the up' and he is hopeful that the results will come during F1 2014. The Grove-based outfit struggles last year are well documented, but this season the squad looks revitalised. Indeed with Mercedes power-plants, the arrival of Felipe Massa to partner Valtteri Bottas, as well as the recruitment of Rob Smedley, to name just three of the recent key changes, Williams are being tipped to surprise and Symonds is quietly confident about what they can achieve with the new FW36. “Well I certainly hope so,” Symonds told Sky Sports F1 when quizzed on if the team can return to the top step of the podium in 2014....
