– Pastor Maldonado remains confident about the potential of the Lotus E22 despite encountering more problems on the first day of the third test in Bahrain. Maldonado caused a red flag period during the morning when he stopped on track and a subsequent exhaust failure truncated his running. The Venezuelan driver ended the day 10th out of the 11 runners, having completed 31 laps.
