Ericsson: The day went exactly to plan

– Formula 1 rookie Marcus Ericsson was left in a positive frame of mind after his Caterham team experienced its most constructive day of the pre-season period to date at the Bahrain International Circuit on Saturday. The Swede, at the wheel of the CT05 for the final time before his maiden Grand Prix, bounced back from gremlins earlier in the week to rack up the most mileage of those in action, circulating a total of 117 times. He was also on target to pull off the first race simulation for a Renault-powered car in the morning session, but a stoppage for Marussia rival Jules Bianchi meant that his final stint came to a slightly premature end.
