Alonso: New rules should be given time

– Fernando Alonso has warned against making knee-jerk reactions to Formula 1's new regulations. For the 2014 campaign, turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 power units have been introduced along with a host of aerodynamic and chassis modifications, creating a vastly different challenge behind the wheel. But Alonso says the rules need to be given time, claiming that drivers will soon get used to the changes. "As drivers, we will get used to it quickly and so I hope these rules aren't immediately overturned and that they stay unchanged for a few years," said Alonso ahead of next weekend's Australian Grand Prix.
