Two second gap between tyre compounds - Pirelli

– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli says that there is a two second gap per lap between the option and prime tyres at this weekend's Australian Grand Prix. Pirelli has nominated the yellow-banded Soft tyres and the white-banded Medium tyres as the option and prime compounds this weekend and say that the opening two practice sessions showed no blistering or graining on the tyres. "From what we can see so far, we were satisfied with both the performance and degradation of the Medium and Soft compounds, both of which are completely new this year," said Pirelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery.
