Ricciardo awaiting decision on excessive fuel flow infraction call

The conclusion of 57 laps at Albert Park saw Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo pick up his first Formula One podium on home soil for the Milton Keynes-based outfit, having been promoted to the team after Mark Webber's departure to the World Endurance Championship. However, after a dramatic race that had its highs and lows from many different aspects, the Australian's car was deemed to have consistently exceeded the allowed maximum fuel flow rate of 100 kilograms per hour during the race. Zero tolerance with regards to fuel consumption is being administered by the FIA with an iron hand, with no team being given any leeway whatsoever.
