Ricciardo disqualified from second place in Australian GP for fuel flow rule breach 16 March, 2014 Daniel Ricciardo has been disqualified from second place in the Australian Grand Prix due to a fuel flow irregularity, thus launching the first major technical controversy of Formula 1′s new V6 turbo era in Melbourne. During the race according to FIA Technical delegate Jo Bauer, Ricciardo's Red Bull consistently exceeded the maximum fuel flow of 100 kilograms per hour, and thus failing to comply with Article 5.1.4 of the 2014 Formula 1 technical regulations.
