Lotus are confident that when they've ironed out the E22's problems, it will be a front-running car capable of fighting at the top. It hasn't yet shown much potential after qualifying in 21st and 22nd in Melbourne and then suffering a double-retirement during the race, but Lotus blame that on a lack of running, not a badly designed chassis.
