Button slowest to record 50 F1 podiums

Jenson Button became the 14th driver in Formula One to register 50 career podiums after he was promoted to third place following the exclusion of Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo at the Australian Grand Prix. But the Briton reached the milestone the slowest among the 14 as he achieved the landmark in his 248th start becoming the only driver to take more than 200 races to reach the number. Button has stood on the podium 26 times with McLaren. Previously, Rubens Barrichello held the record for taking the most number of races to get to 50 podiums as the Brazilian had reached the milestone in his 186th race at the United States Grand Prix in 2004.
