Mercedes tops final practice by a second from Raikkonen

Mercedes stamped its authority by clean sweeping the practice sessions for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Saturday while Kimi Raikkonen continued to set the pace behind the favourites. Nico Rosberg, who topped Friday’s running, went quickest in the third and final practice session, two-tenths clear from teammate Lewis Hamilton. After a close session on Friday, Mercedes widened the gap to its rivals as Raikkonen was more than a second off the pace in third. But tyre degradation will be key in Sunday’s race offering the Ferrari driver some hope to offer a challenge.
