Bianchi and Magnussen pick up penalty points

Jules Bianchi and Kevin Magnussen have picked up penalty points on their licenses for incidents during the Malaysian Grand Prix. The new system was one of several changes added to the Sporting Regulations for this season. If a driver accrues 12 points in the space of 12 months, he will be handed a one-race ban. They will remain on a driver’s superlicense for one year before being removed, but they can be carried over across seasons. Each driver has been handed two points, their first of the season, by the race stewards.
