Williams apologises for team orders row

Williams F1 Team Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams has apologised after the outfit was caught up in a team orders row during the Malaysian Grand Prix. Felipe Massa was informed to allow team-mate Valtteri Bottas into seventh place, to give the Finn a chance at attacking sixth-placed Jenson Button. Massa disregarded the instruction and Williams admits that the team did not handle the situation correctly. "For our fans, we want to apologise for that because we didn't handle it in the best way," she said. "It's disappointing for people that look at Williams and expect to see our guys being able to go out there and fight for things and to let them down or whatever....
