Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez enjoyed a positive day of running after two practice sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit on Friday. First practice took place in unrepresentative conditions, due to the move to a day-night race in Bahrain for 2014, so both drivers failed to complete a considerable amount of running. However, the second session was far more productive. Hulkenberg finished fourth and 13th respectively in the two sessions, completing 28 laps overall.
