Rosberg top on day 1 of Bahrain test

– Nico Rosberg set the quickest time and kept Mercedes on top on Tuesday during day one of the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test. Rosberg, who had to settle for the runners-up spot on Sunday behind team-mate, Lewis Hamilton, had a trouble-free day at the Sakhir Circuit, completing 121 laps in total. His best effort was a 1:35.697, which put him 0.367 seconds up on Nico Hülkenberg's Force India. Fernando Alonso meanwhile took third for Ferrari, and like Hülkenberg, he did almost 70 tours. The Spaniard's best, however, was a 1:36.626s, over half a second slower. More to follow...
