Perez: McLaren hurt almost forced me out of F1

Sergio Perez had admitted that the disappointment of losing his drive at McLaren, following a frustrating single season in 2013, almost forced him to quit Formula One at the end of last year. The Mexican, who claimed his first podium finish for new team Force India – the third of his career – at last weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, revealed that after he was dropped by McLaren late last year he considered leaving the sport, before his new employers handed his F1 career a lifeline.
