Red Bull loses appeal

Red Bull has lost its appeal against Daniel Ricciardo's Melbourne disqualification. Following Monday's hearing in Paris, the FIA announced on Tuesday morning that the judges "decided to uphold the decision" to exclude Ricciardo's car for exceeding the maximum allowed flow of fuel. Red Bull argued that the FIA-homologated sensor was faulty. The FIA did not, however, accept title rival Mercedes' submission that Red Bull should be further penalised in order to deter the team from committing similar breaches.
