Hamilton named Britain's richest sportsman

– 2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is Britain's richest sportsman, according to The Sunday Times Rich List. The Mercedes driver, who has won the last three races to close to within four points of team-mate, Nico Rosberg in the battle for the 2014 F1 Drivers' title, is estimated to be worth £68 million. Hamilton's former McLaren team-mate, Jenson Button meanhwhile is second, on £63 million, while Manchester United football player Wayne Rooney comes in third on £60 million. The guide is based on identifiable wealth, including land, property and shares. It excludes bank accounts, to which the paper has no access. The annual list will be published in May.
