Ferrari met with Senna during fateful weekend to discuss ending his career with Italian team

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo met with Ayrton Senna on the Wednesday before the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix which cost the Brazilian his life. The Italian revealed that the meeting was to discuss Senna's future, which the pair both hoped would end at Ferrari following on from a truncated stint with Williams. "I always appreciated Ayrton's style of racing. As with all great champions, he had an incredible will to win and never tired of seeking perfection, trying to improve all the time.
