Azerbaijan says it has 2016 race deal

– Azerbaijan says that it has struck a deal to join the Formula 1 calendar from the 2016 season. Reports emerged earlier in the year that a race would be held in Baku, the country's capital, from 2016, a year after it hosts the inaugural European Games. But on the Inside The Games website, Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports, claims that a deal with Formula 1 will be announced imminently. "We have signed the deal with Bernie Ecclestone and will announce it officially with an event in Baku shortly," he said.
