Mercedes to trial louder exhaust solution at second in-season test

Mercedes has confirmed that it will trial a prototype exhaust at next week's Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in-season test in an attempt to try and increase the noise level of the current power-units. This year's regulation changes have received mixed reactions from the fans, with many not liking the quieter sound of the V6 Turbos. The FIA confirmed last month after a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council that it was starting to investigate ways to amplify the volume of the new engines. 'Mercedes will evaluate a prototype solution during next week's test to assess its impact on the tailpipe noise,' the Brackley-based outfit confirmed on Twitter.
