Vergne given 10 place grid penalty

BARCELONA, 9th May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Jean-Eric Vergne has been handed a 10 place grid drop after losing his right rear tyre during FP2. Toro Rosso have been fined 30,000 for the incident which saw the right rear tyre come off the car at Turn 1 after he’d left the pits. “This is regarded as a serious offence and the Stewards are of the opinion that this was a significant breach of the safety requirements.” A statement from the stewards read. “The Stewards request the FIA Technical Delegate to satisfy himself as to the compliance of the two Toro Rosso cars with Article 14.7 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations and the Technical Directive TD/017-13 prior to...
