Vettel hit with five-place grid penalty

– Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel will be hit with a five-place grid penalty for the Spanish Grand Prix. The reigning World Champion finished 10th in qualifying after stopping out on track with a technical problem. That issue has since been confirmed to be gearbox-related, with a change of unit required before the race. Gearboxes must be used for six consecutive events, so the upcoming change will result in the grip drop. Vettel will fall to 15th on the grid when the penalty is applied, just behind McLaren rookie Kevin Magnussen.
