Alguersuari and Bird sign for Virgin Racing

– Former Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari and 2013 GP2 Series vice-champion Sam Bird will race for the Virgin in the inaugural 2014/2015 FIA Formula E Championship, it has been announced. Alguersuari, who spent two and half seasons at the pinnacle of the sport, before being dropped from the Red Bull programme at the end of 2011, is eager to get back racing. "I'm thrilled to be driving for an organisation like Virgin. I'm going to be driving for a great team with a wealth of experience and I can't wait to get out on the streets and put these cars to the test," said the Spaniard.
